Abt Associates Administrative Assistant and various vacancies in Kisumu and adjacent areas

Abt Associates seeks qualified candidates for a new USAID-funded Indoor Residual Spraying 2 (IRS 2) in Kenya Project, which it manages.
Positions are based in Kisumu or nearby counties.

Current openings:
M&E Officer:
Establishes/supports routine M&E system and ensures project monitoring. Develops and maintains M&E database and supports data collection in field.
Requires frequent travel to IRS field sites.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in relevant health field;
  • 6+ years relevant experience, preferably on USAIDfunded projects.
  • Strong analytical/database skills and advanced statistical software required with previous malaria/IRS experience desirable.
Environmental Compliance Officer:
 
Ensures spraying activities comply with Kenyan and USG regulations. Supervises and performs inspections. Trains and supports teams.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in public or environmental health;
  • 6+ years professional, including insecticide use and management.
IEC Officer:
Develops/oversees community mobilization and communication initiatives activities.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Master’s Degree in communications or related field;
  • 6+ years professional experience.
Procurement Officer:
Performs local procurements following USAID and Abt Associates policies/procedures.
Qualification Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or relevant field;
  • 6+ years experience, with 2+ in in USAIDfunded programs;
  • thorough knowledge of FARs and AIDARs required.
Database Manager:
Helps develop/manage database; assists in project monitoring/reporting.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in statistics or relevant field;
  • 4+ years experience in database management, M&E.
  • High level of computer literacy and proficiency in statistical software required.
IT Specialist:
Establishes, manages and maintains computer network in all project sites.
Qualification Requirements:
 
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science/ programming and 4+ years of relevant professional experience in IT network administration in a Windows NT environment, including internet access support.

Accountant:
Records/posts project financial transactions, prepares financial reports, maintains accounts books.
Qualification Requirements: 
  • Secondary School completion (minimum)
    or Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or business;
  • 2+ years relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with USAID-funded projects highly preferred.
County Coordinator:
Oversees spray operations in assigned county in close coordination with DHMTs, others.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Secondary School completion (minimum) in relevant health sector field, such as public health;
  • 3+ years relevant professional work experience with experience in vector control and IRS.
Logistician:
Provides logistical support for operations in assigned county, including procurement, inventory, storage, disposal, and other tasks.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Secondary school completion (minimum) or Bachelor’s Degre;
  • 2+ years previous logistics and procurement experience;
  • previous IRS experience desirable.
Warehouse Manager:
Manages inventory, assures commodity security, and other tasks.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Secondary school completion (minimum), or post-secondary studies in logistics or other relevant field (desirable).
  • 2+ years relevant professional experience, with significant experience in procurement and logistics of commodities and demonstrated experience in warehouse/stores management.
Administrative Assistant:
Provides project administrative support.
Qualification Requirements: 
  • Secondary School completion (minimum)
  • or Bachelor’s in administration or other relevant field with 2+ years relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency MS Office required with previous USAID project experience preferred.
