It’s a capacity building organization involved in rural development activities geared towards poverty reduction.

Kitui Development Centre in partnership with FARM Africa – Maendeleo Agricultural Enterprise Fund (MAEF) with financial support from Big Lottery is implementing a project on local chicken production and marketing in Kitui County.

Project Officer (production)
  • The project officer will report to the KDC programme coordinator. He/she will be responsible for planning and co-coordinating project activities. He/she will ensure that the community meets chicken production targets.
  • He/she will ensure that all the project goals and objectives are implemented within the time period of the project.
Key Qualification and Experience required
  • Bsc Animal production or Bsc Animal science
  • Knowledge in poultry production
  • Experience in community mobilization and capacity building
  • Self drive and confidence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Officer will assist the Supply Chain Manager to deliver on the objectives of the function
Core duties and responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and for the whole Procurement process
  • Maintain the quotation register, duplicates of Local Purchase Orders (LPO) and Local Service Orders (LSO) files; requisition and issue voucher file, counter receipt voucher file and Delivery Note file

Will also be responsible for the maintenance of its fiscal records, the preparation, promotion and interpretation of financial reports for management and Principal Investigators.
This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
