Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens of the East African Community Partner States of the Republic of Burundi and the Republic of Rwanda for the positions of Court Clerks, under the East African Court of Justice (EACJ).

POSITION: COURT CLERKS
NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Two (2)
GRADE: G4
REPORTS TO: The Registrar, EACJ
DUTY STATION: Bujumbura, Kigali,
ORGAN: East African Court of Justice

Main purpose of the job
To manage the East African Court of Justice Sub-registries in the two EAC Partner States (Republics of Burundi and Rwanda).

Duties and responsibilities
i. Work under the supervision of the designated supervisor at the National Judiciary and keep the Registrar, EACJ, updated and well informed of everything taking place at the Sub-registry
ii. Receive pleadings and documents and screen them for completeness before
filing them
iii. Prepare case summons and keep register of summons
iv. Prepare a calendar of case hearing dates
v. Prepare cause lists
vi. Receive, register and keep in safe custody all exhibits produced in court
vii. Maintain a case register and court records
viii. Prepare files for court proceedings
ix. Prepare and serve court’s processes, judgments, orders and rulings
x. Keep track of the workload at the Sub-registry and report to the Registrar
xi. Function as the link between the EACJ and the EAC Partner State and respond to questions regarding the Court posed by Stakeholders within the allowed parameters
xii. Perform any other duties that may be assigned to him/her by the Registrar
xiii. Promote a positive corporate image and culture of the Community

Qualification and experience:
Degree in Law or Diploma in Law or related field, with five (5) years experience in a similar position
Skills and competences:
Should possess excellent research, communication and public relations skills, as well as good computer skills. Should have good command of the English Language; ability to communicate in, French, Kinyarwanda and Kirundi will be an added advantage.

Terms and conditions of service
All positions are tenable on a five (5) year contract term, renewable once subject to satisfactory performance, and the retirement age in line with the EAC staff rules and regulations.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES 
AMREF is seeking to fill the following positions for an anticipated USAID funded project.  The project aims at supporting integrated service delivery and addressing the social determinants of health primarily in the areas of HIV/AIDS, malaria, family planning and tuberculosis, MNCH, water and sanitation, and a number of interventions related to the social determinants of health.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION ADVISOR - REF. NO.:- KCO/HR/082/2011 
Stationed in Nairobi with occasional travel to project sites. 
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor will have the primary responsibility for the design, planning, and supervision of the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities that measure the overall performance of the project against set objectives. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Advise on policy design and analysis.  
  •  Advise and assist in the establishment of a multifaceted monitoring and evaluation system in consultation with all key actors and stakeholders, looking at all key elements of the system.
  • Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of analytical reports.
  • Advise and co-ordinate relevant training for all stakeholders in M&E skills including participatory aspects.
  • Generate and implement annual performance monitoring plans, liaise with USAID Strategic Information Team and with MOH counterparts in order to design interventions that support strengthening of monitoring capabilities in the health system.
  • Designing and then commissioning consultants to conduct surveys and special studies.
  • Support project implementation team to document and disseminate lessons learnt and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences or its equivalent. 
  • Significant experience in developing and utilizing monitoring and evaluation systems for large scale health sector related integrated health programs, preferably USAID funded.
  • Experience in overseeing the development of data management systems
