RTI INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION OFFICER JOB IN KISUMU

RTI International is seeking qualified candidates for the Indoor Residual Spraying 3 Project in Kenya.
Education Officer will provide technical support for the development of lesson plans, teacher and student materials, plans and specified frameworks as funded by USAID/Kenya and agreed with by the MOE. These include working with RTI technical staff to identify, develop, and harmonize effective literacy and numeracy instructional approaches to be used in the early grades. S/he will also provide support for TAC tutors working to implement revised lesson plans. S/he will ensure that the ICT pilot study in Kisumu operates efficiently and that the program is effective. The assignment is technical, and is designed to provide high level support for effective local capacity building.

Computer programmer Intern - 95/08/2012 at KEMRI CDC Kisumu(2 positions) 

Program description:
This program is collaboration between Kenya Medical Research Institute and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It involves conducting research and program support for activities related to TB, malaria, HIV and other diseases. The program is inviting applications from fresh graduates (Year 2010/2011/2012) for the internship program in Health Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS) project.

 Internship positions: Computer programmer (2 positions) 
LOCATION: KEMRI/CDC Field Station, Kisian, Kisumu

Requirements for Computer programmer:
Bachelors degree in Information/Computer sciences or equivalent from a recognized university · Should be able to program in .net languages and/or java environment
Knowledge of SQL server, MySQL, and SQL Server mobile edition databases is an added advantage
Demonstrated Knowledge in software architecture, object oriented design, design patterns, data structures and multi-threading.
Knowledge of open source systems is an added advantage
Willingness to learn new tools, experiment and research, and document every work performed · Ability to create user, application and technical documentation Language: Proficiency in written and verbal English Terms of internship:
The internship is for a period of 6 months with the possibility of an extension of another 6 months (During the first 6 month period of internship, the successful candidate will not be eligible for employment with the KEMRI/CDC program)
