Postbank Database and Web Administrator job in Kenya

Postbank is a leading Savings Bank, with a National Branch network, and offering a wide range of financial services.
We wish to recruit highly competent, proactive and self-driven people to fill the following position within our organization.

Database & Web Administrator

Position Function
 
Responsible for managing the bank’s databases and development of web based applications.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ensuring that the database is running optimally.
  • Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to ‘front end’ users.
  • Mapping out the ‘conceptual design’ for planned database in outline.
  • Installing and testing new versions of the Database Management Systems (DMS).
  • Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary.
  • Developing, managing and testing backup and recovery plans.
  • Ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly as well as controlling access permissions and privileges.
  • Communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security.
  • Maintaining the Bank’s Website and other Web Based applications.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
  • 3 years proven track record in ICT; 1 year as a Developer using Oracle.
  • Training in Oracle and UNIX Administration.
  • Training on development using Standards-compliant XHTML and CSS, JavaScript. MS SQL Databases.
  • Training in Data Networks Communication.
