Job Title: Project Ambassador – Directories
Reports to: Product Manager – Directories
Subordinates: Yes
Start date: May, 2013
 
Work schedule: Full time
 
Work location: Nairobi Major Purpose   
  • Coordinate and develop on the ground field data collection teams
  • Execute data collection plan as per strategy
  • Explain product and product objectives to potential merchants and users
  • Keep, update and improve on inventory templates files
  • Ensure accuracy of the data captured and added on the directory. This includes but is not limited to correct: Naming, Contacts, descriptions, images, Locations and other relevant variables
  • Work with Project Manager – Directories in the identification of merchants and other items that would be ideal for specific marketing campaigns
  • Closing sales leads especially for merchants that we would like to upsell or cross-sell
  • Identify potential areas where merchants could do with some help
  • Take over any duties assigned
Working Relationships (Internally & Externally)   
  • Technical department to fix bugs, implement new features and ensure smooth running of the platform
  • Project Manager – Directories – Coordination and collaboration in the execution of day to day tasks
  • Head of Sales – Merchant identification, qualification and approval
  • Marketing team for SEO & SEM optimization
  • Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction and effective social marketing
Qualification and Experience
  • Natural Sales Ability
  • Attention to detail is critical and a self-starter approach is essential
  • Team player, self-motivated, entrepreneurial and very comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, via written and oral formats, to all levels of the organization
  • Prior experience in marketing and on the ground marketing activations
  • B.A. or B.S.; undergraduate business program a plus
