Executive Director job in Kilifi County - Moving the Goalposts

Moving the Goalposts is looking for a dynamic Executive Director to oversee the implementation of the revised strategic plan and delivery of strategic and programme results.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide management and leadership to implement and achieve the vision, goal and strategic results of the organizations
  • Manage the effective and efficient use of programme resources
  • Produce high quality reports as required
  • Provide and lead strategy and policy development in the organization
  • Ensure timely and quality reporting and communication to the MTG Board in support of their oversight functions
  • Provide leadership in the process of organizational growth and expansion of the MTG programme
  • Provide leadership in change management process of the organization
  • Ensure the translation and application of technical expertise into effective programming
  • Undertake fund raising for the organization to mobilize additional resources
  • Build, strengthen and maintain effective and strategic partnerships at all levels and with a range of stakeholders - government, civil society, academic, donors, private sector
  • Drive and implement a strategic and targeted MTG communication strategy
  • Any other duties as delegated by the Board
Relevant Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Advanced University degree in relevant area or equivalent experience
  • Good knowledge of and technical expertise in two or more of the following areas: sports and development, gender, HIV, sexual and reproductive health, gender based violence, education, economic empowerment, advocacy, working with youth, young women, rights, youth leadership
  • At least 5 years of relevant and progressively senior management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate clear organizational vision, policy an strategy
  • Good knowledge of current trends in development in general and in the areas of expertise mentioned above in particular
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, build and strengthen networks and partnerships
  • Excellent English communication skills, good Swahili an advantage
  • Good knowledge of organizational/institutional development and change management approaches
  • Expertise in financial management and good knowledge of internal operational and administrative systems
  • Expertise in developing, cultivating and managing effective human resource needs and work environment
