Aga Khan University Epidemiologist and Consultant Radiologist vacancies

The Aga Khan University (AKU) is a private, not for profit, international University first established in 1983, with 11 teaching sites in eight countries. 
Since 2001, AKU has offered academic programmes in nursing, medicine and education for and in East Africa. 
The Aga Khan University invites applications for the following positions:

Epidemiologist
 
The Epidemiologist will contribute to the development of institutional population based research capacity within identified Faculty of Health Sciences priority areas through funded grants, teaching and providing guidance to learners and faculty. 

S/he will write competitive grants, support collaborative grant applications and supervise field research work. 

S/he will also support curricula development and teaching of research. Applicants should have PhD in Epidemiology or other health related fields such as biostatistics or demography. 
Experience in similar position will be an advantage. 
The successful candidate should also have demonstrated ability for independent scientific publication in peer review journals. 
Applicants for the position should be computer literate with excellent communication skills
 
Consultant Radiologist
 
The Consultant Radiologist will possess general radiologist and full credentialing for all imaging modalities like Vascular Intervention, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Ultra Sound (US), Doppler Ultrasound, conventional Radiography and Mammography. 

S/he will contribute in the development and implementation of “patient centered care” in Radiology.
 
In addition, the successful candidate must have skills in intravascular interventions, Hepato-biliary & Nephro-ureteral stenting, Stereotactic biopsies; CT & MRI guided biopsies /interventions, IVC filters, Balloon angioplasties.
 
The successful candidate should a Degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBCHB) and specialist recognition in Diagnostic Radiology (M.Med Radiology) or its equivalent. 

S/he should have at least eight years’ experience in similar position. 

S/he must be registered or eligible for registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists board.
