SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER JOB IN KENYA

Directorate: Finance and Strategy Services

Position: Supply Chain Manager

Ref: NCWSC2012-010

Grade: 3

Reporting to: Finance and Strategy Services Director

Supervises: Procurement Coordinator and Stores Coordinator

Broad Role: The purpose of this position is to ensure that NWSC procures the right quantity and quality of goods, services and works at a cost effective rate and enhance the efficiency in service delivery to the users.

Duties and Responsibility:



Coordinate formulation of procurement policies and procedures
With inputs from departmental heads, prepare procurement plans for the company
Identify credible suppliers evaluate and select the best and ensure that ordered goods and services are delivered on time and payments made in accordance with procurement agreements
Ensure prices given or quoted for goods and services are competitive
Receive requests from the heads of departments for goods or services; and ensure that all procedures are complied with, prepare order specifications, determine mode of procurement (tender, quotations and import or local purchase in line with NWSC policies)
Work in collaboration with other managers in other departments to ensure they receive the quality and quantity of goods and services requisitioned for
Maintain an up-to-date filing system (contracts, orders, shipping documents; usage and other correspondence)
Monitor and provide control over procurement requests in NWSC
Quality control – To ensure that material and items requisitioned for are delivered as per specifications.

Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
Master’s degree in a relevant field
Diploma in purchasing and supplies
7 years experience at least 4 of which should be at management level.
Prior experience in managing a functional section in a busy environment.
