CARLILE COLLEGE ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN VACANCY IN KENYA

ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN
Carlile College was established in 1958 to offer higher education under the auspices of Church
Army Africa; a Mission Society of Anglican Church which began its activities in Africa in 1956.
Carlile College has a 50 – year heritage of offering quality training to local and international
students both at Certificate and Diploma level. At the heart of the College is an enduring desire
to equip trainees with skills that positively transform society.

Job Purpose
To assist in the operations of the Library at Carlile College

Responsibilities include
• To assist students with online access to library services.
• To process, classify and shelve all library materials.
• To ensure the safe-keeping and storage of all library materials.
• To monitor the charging and discharging of library materials.
• To ensure that the library is a conducive place for reading and study.
• To ensure that the library is kept in a clean and user-friendly condition.
• To perform any other duties as requested by the Librarian from time to time.

Personal specifications
• Preferably an Anglican in good standing with the church.
• Has a Diploma in Information Science (Librarianship) and a minimum of C Plain in KCSE.
• Has demonstrable computer/IT literacy relevant for online librarianship.
• Experience in Librarianship will be an added advantage.
• Has excellent command of the English language and communication skills.
• Be fully committed to the mission of Carlile College.
