Risk & Compliance Officer Job in Real Insurance company Kenya



Real Insurance Company Ltd is a general insurance firm offering a broad range of insurance services to meet the needs of individuals and corporate clients.  The Company has representation in Tanzania, Malawi and Mozambique.

The Position
Reporting to the Audit & Risk Board Committee and the Group Chief Executive Officer, the Risk & Compliance Officer is responsible for assisting management to manage the risks to the organization and interests of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:
·         Active and continuous risk assessment, evaluation and recording of enterprise risks and the subsequent ranking of each risk.
·         Monitor to ensure that all activities involved in the compliance of the various regulatory bodies are done timely.

·         Design and develop tools for enterprise risk management.
·         Carrying out compliance review checks in all departments - Monitoring policies and systems to ensure compliance of processes and tasks, to Real’s policies and the Kenyan law.
·         Providing advice in the design and improvement of risk mitigation strategies.
·         Regular training of staff and other relevant stakeholders on the risk issues pertinent to achieving the company’s objectives.
·         Continuous research and keeping abreast of risk issues affecting the global and local economy.

Qualifications, Skills, Competencies and Experience
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Insurance, Finance/Accounts, Business or equivalent qualification.
·         A professional qualification in Risk Management or undertaking examinations.
·         A minimum of 2 years experience preferably in an insurance environment.
·         Thorough understanding of statutory requirements.
·         Ability to work independently without supervision.
·         High integrity and confidentiality of information.
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·         Well developed interpersonal skills
·         Good Computer skills especially in MS Office
