World Vision Associate Project Director and Project Officer jobs in Kenya

World Vision Kenya is a leading non-governmental Christian humanitarian, relief, development and advocacy organization with projects in most parts of Kenya.  We wish to urgently recruit highly competent, proactive and self-driven people to fill the following positions within our organization.

1. Associate Project Director - Aphia Plus 

(Kakamega)

Purpose of the positions:
To provide the technical advice and direction needed by the Technical Specialists III (Social Determinants for successful rollout of APHIAplus social determinant within the districts in partnership with PATH, JHPIEGO, EGPAF, Government of Kenya (GoK) and target communities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support Project Director in the following:-

  • to provide technical and operational leadership and direction to the the Technical Specialists
  • ensure quality, focus implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Social Determinants of Health interventions
  • to monitor and manage performance
  • oversee the development and implementation of Social Determinant for Health annual work-plans
2. Support the Technical Specialists in the following:-

  • to ensure that the Social Determinant for Health component is implemented in compliance with WV, GoK, and other acceptable standards and norms
  • to develop and rollout of needed programming and monitoring tools, methodological approaches, technical assistance, training / capacity building, DME support and accompanying business processes
  • to facilitate the integration of Social Determinant for Health result areas with result area 3 interventions for synergy and sustainable impact
3. Ensure adherence to the USAID regulations
4. Strengthen networking with relevant GoK to ensure their participation in building revenant structures for
sustainability
5. Oversee the development of the program’s interventions and synergies with other related programs;
6. Compile and submit timely relevant reports required by PATH and WVK

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A Masters degree in a relevant field from a recognized University
  • A minimum of 5 years experience designing, planning, implementing, supervising and reporting on integrated social livelihood and development projects
  • Demonstrated practical command for implementing Social Development
  • Must be results oriented leader with performance based management knowledge who can manage and satisfy multiple and at times conflicting organizational, donor and other stakeholder demands
  • Have solid public relations skills and be a strong team player
2. Project Officer – Accountability, Monitoring & Evaluation

(Baringo, Kakuma & Taita Taveta)

Purpose of the positions:

To provide leadership in the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of the food programme and ensure that accountability mechanisms are established to allow World Vision remain accountable to the beneficiaries it
serves.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the food programme from design phase specifically in identifying key indicators, defining the M&E plan and other documentation needs.
  • Work with the Commodity Officer to coordinate & document learnings
  • Develop realistic M&E plans as well as log frames
  • Develop and adopt an effective data collection plan
  • Monitor and review data from M&E reports
  • Ensure data collection teams are fully trained and receive field practice
  • Ensure systematic archiving of all presentations and materials prepared during the project cycle
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders i.e. academia, NGOs, Government, Private Sector and WFP to advance the learning goals of the project
  • Define and establish linkages between the M&E system for the food programme & the Humanitarian accountability requirements
  • Define and implement a safe, efficient and effective system for receiving and processing of feedback, ensuring a two-way communication between communities, beneficiaries & World Vision
  • Prepare periodic reports and also highlight type(s) and number of community complaints / feedback by project sites.
  • Work closely with the Food Aid Manager, Accountability Design Monitoring & Evaluation Officer and Commodity Officer to develop a Humanitarian Accountability Framework for the food programme
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • A degree related to the science and practice of community development, program design, statistics and evaluation
  • 3 years experience in M&E positions including participatory research and impact measurement
  • Experience in working on donor funded programs and managing projects
  • Proven technical ability around M&E (i.e. experience in managing data entry and conducting data analysis and interpretation)
  • Experience with SPSS or Epi Info and other related statistical software packages
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality assurance systems, and continuous improvement, with particular emphasis on integration of accountability measures into all aspects of the project cycle
  • Empirical knowledge of humanitarian codes, principles and practice
  • Good team player, self starter, has ability to work under minimum supervision and maintain good relationships
