Job Summary:


Reporting to the Senior Portfolio Manager, the role shall entail selling of Company’s investment products to grow assets under management. 
The role holder shall be a member of the investment committee and he/she shall be the primary relationship manager to allocated Clients.

Main Duties:

The key responsibilities will among others include:
  • Develop deal pipeline of Prospects and actively pursue them.
  • Prepare sales proposals and make presentations to Prospects as appropriate.
  • Work with other departments of the Bank to identify prospects who have existing relationship with these departments notably Institutional Banking, Sacco Banking and Corporate Banking.
  • Cross sell other bank products to Clients.
  • Submission of account opening documents to operations department for forwarding to legal for signature and for Client installation in the system.
  • Participate in product development.
  • Attend Investment committee meetings.
  • Familiarise with various investments held and be able to offer justification to the Clients on purchase/hold or sale decisions undertaken.
  • Attend Investment committee meetings.
  • Regularly monitor portfolios under management and recommend any rebalancing strategies to bring them in line with both agreed investment committee strategies and Client current circumstances.
  • Prepare and dispatch to Clients quarterly investment reports that incorporate economic and market overview, current portfolio valuation, transactions during the quarter, performance and strategy for the following quarter.
  • Attend Client meetings / AGMs and make presentations as appropriate.
  • Work closely with the Client investment committee/ Fund secretaries so as to bolster good working relationship.
  • Write call reports for any Client visits and action areas of attention promptly.
  • Maintain client file for all correspondences, reports and minutes of Client meetings.
  • Ensure all documentations regarding relationship with Client in terms of investment management agreement, and investment policy statement are complete and up to date.
  • Ensure that billing for management fees  is done promptly and in line with agreed terms and follow up for settlement undertaken.
  • Submit Weekly Activity Reports.
Job specification:

The incumbent will be required to possess the following qualifications, attributes and skills:
  • Degree in a Business related course.
  • CFA Charter holder, Qualified Accountant, Professional Marketing courses or relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Membership in relevant professional  body.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in investment portfolio management, Client service and Sales and Marketing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications. Working knowledge of an investment management system is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements and good understanding of key accounting ratios and modeling techniques would be a distinct advantage.
