Standard Group Web designer job Vacancy in Kenya

 The Standard Group comprises, The Standard Newspapers, Game Yetu, The County   Weekly,
KTN, Radio Maisha, PDS, Standard Digital and Think Outdoor Services.  The Group is in the
process of strengthening its commercial function by recruiting highly motivated, qualified,
experienced and competent individuals to the following positions:

WEB DESIGNER

The Web Designer will work closely with the multi-disciplinary Online Team to assist them in
creation, organization, maintenance and enhancement of the Group’s websites.   In partnership
with the editorial team, the candidate will be involved in content management of the websites
as well as management of social media platforms. 
 


The Ideal Candidate Must

•  Have deep expertise in various web and mobile web applications development using
HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Popular JavaScript libraries, SQL, PHP and MySQL. Knowledge
of any Open source PHP web application framework such as Code Igniter will be an
added advantage (previous work examples a must);
•  Be able to develop and maintain documentation on SEO best practices and work
with journalists/editors to continually improve the Group’s search result rankings;
•  Have skills to monitor campaign results, analyse key metrics, and optimize click-through
and conversion rates on our social media;
•  Have excellent understanding knowledge of database modeling and information
architecture, with web application integration, excellent Software Development
Lifecycle and Cross-browser/platform

Qualification, Skills & Competencies
•  Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in
professional web design;
•  Expert with wide experience in SEO & SEO Tools;
•  Very knowledgeable with Analytics and Webmaster tool.
