The Mater Hospital, a leading Health Care provider is seeking to fill the following positions:
ASSISTANT PROJECTS & MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Reporting to the Manager, Projects & Maintenance and the successful candidate’s role will include but
not be limited to:
Key Result Areas:
• Assist in managing all hospital projects and maintenance work in an efficient and cost
effective manner ensuring conformity to Quality Standards and observing Environmental,
Health and Safety Regulations.
• Plan, schedule, communicate and assign tasks to the team and monitor to completion,
ensuring conformance to specifications, standards and schedule of the requisitioning
department.
• Develop work designs that are easy for staff to understand and execute
• Maintain optimum stock levels, ensuring all transactions are well document and records
maintained
• Create a work environment that fosters a high level of responsibility, integrity and team spirit.
• Conduct performance management assessments for staff and recommend remedial measures
for gaps and growth for the team
Minimum Requirements for the position:
• BSc. Degree in Engineering. Registered Graduate Engineer and Member of Engineering
Professional Body
• Certificate or Diploma in Project Management will be an added advantage
• 5 years working experience in a relevant field 2 of which should be hands on managing and
supervising a diverse Projects & Maintenance workforce
• Must be computer literate - Ms Word and Excel, knowledge of AutoCAD Software will be an
added advantage
Competencies
• Ability to analyze, comprehend and interpret building documents and equipment manuals
• Good knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety Regulations
• Ability to plan, execute and monitor projects making changes where necessary to ensure
successful completion within budget and schedule
• Good analytical, decision making and report writing skills
• Ability to lead and maintain a highly motivated team even under pressure
• Ability to plan and execute Planned Preventive Maintenance [PPM] and routine maintenance
work
• Good coaching, counseling and mentoring skills
