Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat jobs in Kenya

The Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat (VDS) is charged with spearheading the implementation of the country’s development blueprint and strategy towards transforming Kenya into a newly industrializing ‘middle-income country by the year 2030’.
VDS is now seeking smart, energetic, enthusiastic “can do” attitude and experienced persons to work with our fast paced management team for the following positions on a three (3) year contract renewable upon satisfactory performance. 
Competitive remuneration will be awarded to the successful candidates. 
Secretary
 
Purpose of the Job
 
Reporting to the Assistant Director Finance Administration & Human Resources the Secretary will be responsible for provision of administration and secretarial support services.

 
Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide secretarial and executive support services to the respective Directorates.
  • Draft correspondence and reports and proof read documents.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries, route calls to appropriate officers and place outgoing calls.
  • Schedule appointments, prepare itineraries and confirm travel arrangements.
  • Maintenance, storage and retrieval of files/documents for access and security.
  • Undertake other duties which are consistent with the level of responsibility of this post.
Job Requirements
 
A Bachelors degree in a relevant Social Science or Business discipline such as Management, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field. Higher Diploma in Secretarial Studies or its equivalent from KNEC or any recognized institution. 

A certificate in computer applications (Microsoft- Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer) from a recognized institution. Three (3) years of relevant experience in a busy environment.

Sensitivity to ethics, integrity and confidentiality. Excellent in interpersonal and communication skills.

Records Officer
 
Purpose of the Job
 
Reporting to the Human Resources & Administration Manager the Officer will be responsible for all matters relating to Registry and Records management within Vision Delivery Secretariat.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Be in charge of the Registry and Documentation Unit of the Secretariat.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive Policy and Procedure manual for Registry management, Records management and the Archives Management Plan.
  • Develop and maintain a filing/classification index.
  • Ensure safe custody of all records, documents, files, letters etc within the Registry.
  • Oversee the maintenance of hardcopy records, filing and file movements within the Secretariat.
  • Manage archived information; facilitate access and retrieval of documents.
  • Manage the timely delivery of both internal/external and incoming/outgoing mail.
  • Conduct periodic records audit and organize document disposals as per the retention schedule.
Job Requirements
 
The Job holder is required to possess a Bachelors degree in Records and Archives Management from a recognized institution.

At least five (5) years relevant work experience, should have sound knowledge of electronic document/records management systems; highly developed research skills and ability to think conceptually, knowledge of relevant legislations and classification systems.

Procurement Assistant
 
Purpose of the Job
 
Reporting to Procurement Officer on matters relating to procuring of goods, works and services at the right time, of the right quality and quantity, at the right price, and from right sources for VDS to get value for money

Core duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the receiving and opening of Tenders/pre-qualifications, RFP, Quotations,
  • Receive and verify deliveries of materials/goods and issuance of the same, raise GRN, ensure safe custody of stock in the stores, monitor the stock level and initiate re-ordering process
  • Participate in the evaluation of Tenders, Proposals, Quotations, and participate in preparation of LPOs and LSO’s.
  • Conduct regular stock taking exercise, preparation of store reports
  • Ensure proper posting to the computer system and proper records are maintained.
  • Secretary of the Procurement Committee and Inspection and Acceptance Committee
Job Requirements
 
The Job holder is required to posses Bachelors degree in procurement, business, commerce, economics or equivalent from a recognized University and Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) level five (5). 

Must have at least 2 years work experience and should be a member to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or any other relevant professional body.

Driver

Purpose of the Job
 
Reporting to the Human Resources & Administration Manager the Driver will be responsible for transportation and maintenance of the allocated VDS vehicle.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Undertake routine and preventive maintenance of motor vehicle, regularly clean and polish vehicle.
  • Drive motor vehicle to transport directors, staff, clients and others to designated locations.
  • Perform miscellaneous errands such as paying bills, registered letters for postage, collecting and delivering mail, load and offload baggage, goods and other material supplies with due regard to the safety of other people.
  • Maintain records of the motor vehicle’s daily activity showing journey, mileage, petrol, oil and signature of authorizing officer to account for all the journeys made.
  • Implement preventive maintenance by taking motor vehicle for major service or repairs in accordance with planned schedule or instructions.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the management.
Job Requirement
 
The Job holder is required to possess Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade C (plain) with C (plain) in both English and Kiswahili. 

A valid driving license with current endorsement for at least class E, First – Aid certificate, passed suitability test for driver grade III, valid certificate of good conduct and clean driving record. 

Must be computer literate
