USADF Program Coordinator and Financial Officer Jobs in Kenya

USADF in partnership with Cezam and Associates Limited on the Turkana Food Security Program are seeking to recruit Kenyan nationals for the positions below.
USADF provides technical assistance and support to grassroots groups who are recipients of funding from USADF and partners with host country entities to ensure its grantees have access to the support services they may need to successfully plan and implement their self help development activities.
 
Program Coordinator
 
Major responsibilities:
 
Overall management of the program including assisting prospective grantees in the development of project proposals, supporting grantees in project implementation, performance assessment and remediation of projects, and management of the Lodwar office.

Qualifications:
  • University degree in management, business administration, economics, financial management or related discipline; high computer literacy.
  • Five years or more of professional work experience in project/program development, management, monitoring, evaluation, and financial analyses related to income generation, small business development including agro business, community development or other self help development initiatives;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing effective monitoring and evaluation systems, including measurable performance indicators and targets, and performance assessment;
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and analyzing business plans, profit/loss and cash flow analysis, and in using such instruments to make recommendations on providing assistance to enterprise development project participants.
Financial Officer
 
Major responsibilities:
 
Assist prospective grantees to prepare pre-funding financial analyses including cash flow and profit/loss assessments to determine the potential profitability and financial sustainability of proposed projects; provide accounting and financial management training to USADF grantees; conduct visits to monitor and advise grantees in their activities etc.

Qualifications:
  • University degree in accounting, financial management or related business discipline, or CPA equivalency; and with high computer literacy.
  • Five years or more of professional work experience in an accounting or financial management position;
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in conducting financial analysis of projects.
