As part of our growth strategy, the company diversified its Insurance operation to the South Sudan market. We are therefore seeking to fill the following position in the South Sudan office with individual who is proactive and self driven and who can apply her knowledge, diligence and experience to contribute to the achievement of our mission to provide outstanding financial services to our customers.
Nature and Scope of Work
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the incumbent will assist in putting in place
procurement arrangements to deliver best value goods and services at a group level. He/she will also promote compliance with British American procurement regulations, legal requirements, satisfy stakeholder needs, provide support and specialist advice to users, and deliver value for money. The Assistant Manager will assist the Manager to execute Procurement duties as per the Policy & Procedures Manual and in the execution of the Procurement Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain price lists for standard consumer items
  • Review/vet requisitions for completion and enhancement
  • Obtain, review & analyze quotations
  • Prepare LPOs and obtain draft contracts
  • Review invoices
  • Liaise with the users for review & evaluation of service providers
  • Maintain records
  • Provide the technical input for the prequalification
  • Monitor the tendering process including the opening and analysis
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
  • A diploma in Supply Chain Management
  • Experience of at least 5 years in a procurement environment
  • A registered member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management
  • Computer knowledge – Microsoft Office Suite
  • High Integrity levels
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to adhere to strict lead times with minimum supervision
