Advertising Business Development Officer job in Kenya

Our Client, which is  a media and marketing organization focusing on the youth. 

Amongst its key products being a teen publication which is a Kenya’s leading teen publication  is looking for an Advertising Business Development Officer.

The Advertising Business Development officer will be responsible for maintaining and growing advertising revenues across a given client and market territory. 

Selling print advertising via the telephone, email and face to face meetings with potential advertisers.

Core Responsibilities
 
Selling advertising space to a mix of new customers and existing key accounts. 

Working towards set revenue targets and generating advertising sales revenues.

Proactively network, always seeking opportunities to promote  the product
 
This role will involve visiting potential customers to aggressively prospect for new business
 
This role will also involve maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers via regular meetings, telephone calls and emails.

Skills, Experience and Abilities
 
The suitable candidate should have  significant experience( A minimum of 3 years) in media (not necessarily print – it could be electronic).

Knowledgeable – sales & marketing techniques, understand in great detail the sales process, etc.

A pleasant personality and excellent communication skills.

Analytical thinkers – must be able to see the big picture and how it fits into the smaller task of selling a specific product/service. Must have ability to analyse a scenario, first understand what the sales challenge is, and then use their selling skills to create an appropriate strategy .

Presentation Skills – Ability to develop well thought out proposals and able to present the same. Proposal writing ability is critical.

Negotiation Skills – Ability to overcome rejections and turn them into a sales opportunity. Enthusiasm and spirit alone isn't enough, they must have the go-getter attitude together with tact

  • An undergraduate degree in Sales and Marketing or Advertising from a recognized university.
  • A solid understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising cost-effectiveness, including market sector targeting, product offer development, features-benefits-solutions selling etc.
Salary: The suitable candidate  could easily earn up to 200,000/- in commissions alone monthly! Plus a retainer.
