Project Engineers jobs in Kenya electricity Transmission Ltd

The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Ltd wishes to recruit qualified and experienced personnel with excellent credentials to fill the following vacant positions that will be on a 2 year contract or the duration of the project. 

Currently, the Company is constructing a total of over 2000km of electricity transmission Line of 500kv, 400kv, 220kv and 132kv and the associated substations.

Job Profile
 
Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the Project Engineer will be stationed in the area where the project is being undertaken and will perform the following functions related to the project:
  • Plan, design and supervise the construction of transmission lines and associated substations;
  • Lead and coordinate activities of the project implementation team composed of various professionals;
  • Participate in the procurement of project contractors and other consultants; and
  • Supervise contractors and consultants so as to ensure that each stage of the project progresses on time and on budget.
Minimum Qualifications and Attributes
 
The ideal candidates should at least possess the following qualifications and attributes:-
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil (Structural) or Electrical Engineering from a recognized University. A Masters Degree will be an added advantage;
  • Be a registered Engineer with the Kenya Engineers Registration Board (KERB);
  • Be a member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (MIEK) ;
  • Have at least five (5) years relevant work experience; three of which should have been in the design and construction of projects worth KShs. 100 million and above;
  • Should possess computer skills. Proficiency in Office and CADD computer applications and other structural analysis and design software will be an added advantage;
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and good presentation skills;
  • Ability to perform work independently under strict deadlines with minimum supervision; and
  • Should be self-motivated, a team player, result oriented and with high level of integrity and willing to work odd hours when necessary.
