Internship Opportunity in Kenya -GIZ Health Sector Programme

Internship Vacancy
The GIZ Health Sector Programme is looking for an intern to be attached to their Sexual Reproductive (SRH) Component.

Background
The development objective of GIZ Health Sector Programme for Kenya is that equitable access, particularly for the poor; to quality affordable healthcare is improved, particularly in the area of reproductive health. The programme supports the Government of Kenya in its implementation of the National Health Sector Strategic
Plan, health sector policy reforms, as well as planning processes derived from the Sector Wide Approach. The core areas of this support include Family Planning and Reproductive Health, Health Sector Financing, Quality Assurance and Human Rights.


The Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Component requires an intern who will provide support in the area of knowledge management. The key roles of the intern will be to support the component in knowledge management including documentation of evidence generated in implementation of various approaches. The component has a variety of data that requires to be transformed into information that showcases the work of GIZ in Sexual Reproductive Health. The information generated will build into the knowledge repository of the GIZ Health Sector Programme.

Objective
This support will encompass collation of existing information within the component to create knowledge products that can be disseminated internally and externally.

Job Scope:
 The Intern will:
Assist in compiling the component’s data into informational material that is contextualized for various target audiences
Liaise with the Communication and ICT team to support production of relevant communication pieces using a variety of media
Support internal documentation of SRH Component work utilizing existing platforms; including the DMS and the GIZ HSP weblog
Support logistics for SRH Component activities, specifically meetings related to knowledge management activities
Any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

1.    First degree in any discipline is essential, preferably social sciences or public health disciplines. Masters level degree is an added advantage.
2.    Demonstrable ICT knowledge including Microsoft Office Suite

Other knowledge, additional competences
1.    Excellent communication skills; team player
2.    Previous experience in the area of knowledge management/ communication is preferable.
3.    Able to work under minimum supervision.
