FUTURE FIRST PROGRAMME OFFICER JOB IN KENYA - (700000 - 800000 P.A)

About Future First Future First builds alumni networks around high schools, keeping former students connected with their old school long after they leave. This community can be engaged as relatable role models for the students in career events at the school or as mentors, fundraisers, donors, work experience providers, volunteers and much more.
Future First’s vision is that every school should be supported by a thriving alumni community. We’re looking for a locally-based young, entrepreneurial Programme Officer to join our dynamic team to manage our pilot programme in Nairobi, which we are launching in partnership with the African Centre for Women, Information and Communications Technology – (ACWICT).
We’re looking for someone outgoing who loves working with young people and can talk to anyone – students, alumni and teachers alike. It’s really important that they’re confident speaking
to large groups of young people.  It’s also important to be able to think quickly on your feet and it would be great if you can come up with creative ideas for making our work with young people better and better.
We need someone with a great aptitude for public speaking and facilitation whether developed through teaching, sports coaching or performing arts. They must also have a solid understanding of the Kenyan jobs market and the paths that people take into their careers.

The successful candidate will work in the following three key areas:

1.   Events: leading our events with young people in schools where alumni volunteers come back to speak to students about their jobs, which range from large assemblies to small-group workshops;

2.   Outreach: researching and reaching out to former students to convince them to get involved with Future First’s work at their old school;

3.   Building relationships: building great relationships with everyone from students and alumni to teachers.

The staff member will be based at the offices of our partner organisation, ACWICT, in central Nairobi. The successful candidate will be working with a diverse range of schools across the city in the first year, with the hope of expanding the programme to more schools and regions – if successful – in subsequent years.
All candidates must have 2 or more years’ work experience with young people and be fluent in English and Swahili.

Closing date: 5pm, Friday 31st August.
First and second round interviews: 3rd – 7th September.
