The Government of Kenya received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Kenya Youth Empowerment Project (KYEP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consultant services.

The Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) was appointed as the implementing agency for Training and Internship Component of the Kenya Youth Empowerment Project (KYEP), which involves providing private sector internships and training over a period of four (4) years (2011-2014) to youth in the age bracket of 15-29 years.

Training Needs Assessments (TNAs) were done and the KEPSA Sector Boards developed training plans with employers aligned with the Vision 2030’s six growth sectors; Information Communication Technology (ICT), Tourism, Energy, Finance, Manufacturing and Micro & Small Enterprises (MSE) .

The project seeks to provide third party didactic and experiential training of up to 12 weeks as follows; 2 weeks of Life Skills Training, 5 weeks of Core Business Skills Training and 5 weeks of Sector Specific
Training.

After this the youth will be placed with various employers for a further 3 months of workplace experience/internship. Approximately 10,800 interns will participate in this project.

The Kenya Private Sector Alliance now seeks Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from interested firms to provide the Finance Sector Specific Training.

Interested consultants/training firms must specify if they intend to offer the training on their own or in association with other consultants/firms in order to enhance their qualifications.

They should provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (appropriate facilities such as classrooms; equipment; qualified/experienced trainers; evidence

This expression of interest is being re-advertised to reach a broader audience. Those who responded earlier are encouraged to re-apply afresh.
