IRC CAREERS - CLINICAL SERVICES MANAGER,HAGADERA AND CLINICAL OFFICER, KAKUMA

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Kenya serves vulnerable populations in the Turkana and Garissa regions as well as in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

The IRC implements programs in the areas of comprehensive primary health care, nutrition, protection, peace building, water and sanitation and hygiene (WASH), HIV/AIDS prevention, response to gender based violence, disaster risk reduction (DRR), livelihoods and governance.

Applications are invited for the following positions:

1. Clinical Services Manager - Hagadera

The Clinical Services Manager will be working under the guidance and supervision of the Health Team Leader and will be directly responsible for the overall management of all the curative services offered in the Refugee Camps.

Required Qualifications:

Degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution or an equivalent with preferably Masters in Public Health
A mature person of high professional discipline and moral integrity, able to work under stress as the situation may dictate.
Must be registered with Kenya Medical and Dentist Board and allowed to practice in Kenya.
Three years experience in tropical medicine or public health in developing countries.
Training and at least three years experience in health program design and management.
Ability to work with displaced communities with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds..
Proficiency in computer especially in EXCEL and MS WORD is a MUST.



2. Clinical Officer - Kakuma

Working under the guidance and supervision of the Medical Officer In Charge of clinics, the clinical officer is directly responsible for the overall management of the clinic assigned


Required Qualifications:

Diploma in clinical medicine from KMTC or any other renowned institution.
Be registered and have a valid license from the Clinical Officers’ Council.
At least two years work experience in a busy hospital/clinic set up.
Experience working with a non-profit humanitarian organization.
Ready to work in difficult environmental conditions
Be a team player
Flexibility at work
Cultural sensitivity
Knowledge of Turkana or Somali languages will be an added advantage.
