Christian Health Association of Kenya, a national faith based organization committed to promoting
access to quality health care is seeking suitable candidates for the following positions for a 5-year
CDC funded comprehensive HIV AIDS Care and Treatment Project in selected faith based affiliated
sites in Central, Eastern and Nairobi regions:
CLINICAL COORDINATOR (MEDICAL DOCTOR – PHYSICIAN/ PEDIATRICIAN)
The position reports to the Project Principal Investigator.
Key roles and responsibilities:
• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of the HIV care , treatment and support
strategy
• Assist CHAK and its partners in the assessment, development, improvement and
dissemination of sound HIV/AIDS care policies and strategies
• Provide support to implementing sites on comprehensive HIV care and treatment issues
through core technical assistance teams
• Analyze, synthesize and disseminate cutting edge methodologies, lessons learned and best
practices to partners regarding comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and their application to
policies and programs.
• Promote information exchange with partners, regional institutions and networks about
effective program implementation practices and lessons learned on all aspects related to HIV
care
Desired Skills:
• Technical expertise and experience in HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support
• Demonstrated organizational, training and facilitation skills including clinical mentorship
• Demonstrated knowledge of USG/PEPFAR results reporting requirements
• Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and a team player
Education and Experience:
• Professional advanced medical degree, MMed (Internal Medicine/Pediatrics)
• Minimum of 2 years experience in HIV&AIDS programs or clinical work
• Skilled in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications

Key roles and responsibilities:
• Provide technical assistance and capacity building to implementing sites staff on community
based HIV care activities and treatment adherence initiatives
• Promote linkages and collaboration between treatment sites and CBOs involved in
community based HIV & AIDS care, treatment and support
• Identify, document and share lessons on various community based treatment adherence
models
Desired qualifications, skills and experience
• Degree in Nursing, Public Health or a health related field
• At least three years experience in community based HIV/AIDS programming
• Good interpersonal and cross cultural skills
• Experience in capacity building through training and mentorship and community
mobilization
• Skilled in Word, Excel and Power Point applications
• At least 3 years experience in HIV related community work
