HR & Services Manager job in Kenya

The organisation is geographically located in Nairobi, Naivasha, Kericho, Mt. Kenya and Mombasa and works with 1,200 vegetable out growers and 10,000 tea out growers.

We invite applications for the position of HR & Services Manager which has arisen in our Tea Extracts division in Kericho.
 
The Job
 
Reporting to the General Manager and functionally to the Human Resource Director, the Human Resource and Services Manager will assist with the implementation of various human resource initiatives in order to improve the organizational results. 

The role also covers general administration i.e. security, payroll. 

Key responsibilities include amongst others:
  • Managing ongoing changes as relates to people management
  • Implementing Human Resource Strategies, Policies and Procedures
  • Reviewing and developing short and medium range staffing plans
  • Responsible for effective management of industrial relations in liaison with departmental heads.
  • Responsible for staff welfare programs i.e. housing, PPE provisions etc at the Tea Extracts factory.
  • Assisting management with the implementation of an agreed performance management system and ensure that staff objectives are clearly defined and are in line with the performance management framework. In addition, champion and implement high performance people management practices to meet business objectives.
  • Managing, maintaining and regularly updating the job descriptions for various positions at the factory
  • Dealing with all the security matters within the factory in liaison with Security Officer
  • Ensuring contractors attached to factory are performing their duties as per terms defined in their respective contracts.
  • Assist in managing day to day payroll operations at the factory.
The Person
 
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications / competencies;
  • Bachelor’s degree with a post graduate qualification in Human Resource Management
  • 3 years relevant experience as an HR generalist
  • Good working knowledge of the Kenyan Labour laws
  • Good organisational and negotiation skills
  • Innovative particularly in solving business problems and decision making.
  • Strong relationship-building and change management skills with demonstrated ability to establish credibility throughout the organisation through strong communication skills, HR expertise and a good understanding of the business of the organisation.
