Our Client:
A leader in FMCG / Liquor Industry; owning and operating duty free travel retail shops at airports and seaports worldwide, as well as involving in brand development, marketing, and sales. The company is headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, operating through a network of offices and warehouses in Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Job Title:
Asst. Manager – Legal

Reporting To:
Regional CEO and will be overseen by the group’s General Counsel.

Gross Salary:
KES 150,000 – KES 200,000 per month (negotiable)

Job Responsibilities:
•          Drafting, reviewing and vetting of litigation related documents (plaints, statement of claims, rejoinders, etc.);
•          Drafting, reviewing and vetting various kinds of commercial contracts, term sheets, etc.;
•          Drafting, reviewing and vetting various kinds of property contracts, term sheets, etc.;
•          Exposure to shareholders’ agreements, share purchase agreements, JV agreements and   MOUs;
•          General legal correspondence such as legal notices, demand letters, etc.
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Minimum Bachelors  / Post Graduate in Law;
  • Minimum experience of 2-3 years preferably with a law firm;
  • Previous experience in Retail / FMCG an added advantage.
  • Experience in dealing with matters related to general corporate/commercial laws (company law, property law, contract law, etc.); and
  • Knowledge / experience in attending court and arbitration hearings.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in liaising with government agencies for obtaining licenses, approvals, etc.;
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and oral (English);
  • Candidate should have good communication skills in the French language as well;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and highly presentable with professional demeanor;
  • Passionate towards work, self-motivated, takes initiative and responsibility; and
  • Membership with a professional body;
