Savannah Cement CEO job in Kenya

Savannah Cement is the newest cement company in the Kenyan market having completed a state-of-the-art Greenfield Cement Grinding Plant in Athi River, Kenya. The plant will employ the latest cement technology in the market to produce 1.5 million tonnes of the various cement products per annum for the Kenyan and regional market. Savannah Cement is looking to appoint a dynamic, energetic and experienced strategist to join and lead a vibrant team committed to growing the company in volume, efficiency, regional impact and profitability.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)
Reporting to and working in partnership with the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for leading, managing and leveraging multicultural
teams to maximize profitability and shareholder value through business growth and sustainability while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and building perfection through people. This is a challenging opportunity that will involve the following:
Collaborating with the board to define and articulate the organization’s vision and to develop strategies for achieving that vision.
Identifying and managing all strategic imperatives for the benefit of Savannah Cement.
Driving and coordinating the initiatives, practices, corporate culture and procedures for achievement of Savannah Cements business goals.
Implementing the Boards decisions in a result- oriented and timely manner to achieve the organization’s vision, mission, goals, objectives and agreed performance targets.
Developing, nurturing and enhancing synergies within Savannah Cement for efficiency and effectiveness in attaining the organizations objectives.
Ensuring that there is continuous development of new and innovative products.
Continuously monitoring economic, business, regulatory and other related trends to determine their potential impact on plans and operations of Savannah Cement and initiating the necessary actions to safeguard the objectives and goals of the organization.
Leading a team of trained and talented professionals to progress Savannah Cements’ business and to promote the development of a positive corporate culture, ethical practices and sound sustainability goals.
Promoting Savannah’s objectives of identifying and developing talents throughout the entire business.
Developing and recommending to the Board short term, medium and long term strategies, business plans and accurate annual budgets.
Establishing effective internal monitoring and control systems, processes and procedures to execute approved plans; and
Leading the development and implementation of the organization’s Safety Health and Environment policy.
Person Profile
The ideal candidate will be a holder of a University degree from a recognized university with distinguished Leadership and management track record, with 10 years of progressive experience at senior levels and a demonstrable record of success in a competitive
environment at national and regional level. A masters’ degree will be an added advantage.
An analytical and passionate transformative and visionary leader who will continuously push Savannah’s business horizons.
An energetic go-getter who will drive the organization through concrete performance targets.
An experienced and proactive leader, who must have managed a busy reputable organisation and has a deep sense of foresight and ability to institute contingency strategies; and
A fluent English speaker, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience in management of diverse teams
An attractive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the job and the experience of the individual will be negotiated with the right candidate. The position is on a three (3) years renewable term based on annual Performance Contract.
