CBA Senior Relationship Manager Job in Mombasa

SENIOR RELATIONSHIP MANAGER Reports To:Head of Corporate Business Department:Corporate Business Division:Business Management
Job Purpose Statement
To grow business in terms of assets and liabilities (customer deposits), customer base and income through personal sales activities within existing customer portfolio and getting new ones within the Bank’s target market for Institutional Banking. Effective relationship management resulting in optimization of customer satisfaction, retention and wallet share through selling multiple solutions (cross-selling) from the entire range of the bank’s products and services is critical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy input and achievement of business growth targets for the Mombasa business
  • Adequacy of personal and team competence to effectively perform relationship management activities/tasks
  • Quality of management of customer expectations
  • Consistency in adherence to and application of established policies, processes, procedures and tools to achieve optimal efficiency, compliance and cost containment
Main Activities
  • Develop cost effective, long term asset and liability business with companies and organisations of repute in order to ensure Bank’s maximum profitability.
  • Maintaining adequate relationship contact with assigned customers to ensure their expectations are managed and that they have appropriate understanding of CBA.
  • Anticipate and be continually sensitive to the shifting customer expectations and initiate appropriate measures to ensure that CBA stays ahead of competitors in rendering customer service.
  • In liaison with the service delivery managers handle transactions for Institutional Banking customers on day to day basis always ensuring the bank is not unduly exposed.
  • Continually Identify and exploit cross selling opportunities that embed the bank and its products with the customer’s needs.
  • Identify, develop a dynamic target pipeline and market for new profitable and/or status customers from the identified target sectors.
  • Ensure compliance to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) requirements in all dealings with existing and potential customers.
  • Ensure an effective call program is maintained on all assigned customers and prospects.
  • Participate in cross-functional activities that help promote and nurture collective responsibility to the bigger objectives of the Bank.
  • Periodic (as specifically defined) performance reporting on marketing activities
Competence Requirements
  • Strong Sales skills to prospect and close business.
  • Relationship Management skills to effectively perform Relationship Management activities/tasks in a manner that consistently achieves high quality standards or benchmarks.
  • Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain business networks and to effectively communicate with other shareholder who impact performance.
  • Leadership skills to effectively structure and lead the team to achieving Corporate goals.
  • Strategic awareness to contribute to the strategy of growing the Mombasa business.
  • Knowledge of Bank products and services that would be offered to Corporates.
  • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures and guidelines to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.
  • Self-empowerment to enable development of open communication, teamwork and trust that are needed to support performance and customer-service oriented culture.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements
  • University degree – Upper 2nd Class Honors or 3.0 GPA
  • Relevant professional qualification in banking or finance or marketing provide added advantage.
  • Seven years relevant experience in Banking and at least 5 years in Corporate Business.
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office applications.
  • Relevant sales experience
