RTI INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION OFFICER JOB IN KISUMU

RTI International is seeking qualified candidates for the Indoor Residual Spraying 3 Project in Kenya.
Education Officer will provide technical support for the development of lesson plans, teacher and student materials, plans and specified frameworks as funded by USAID/Kenya and agreed with by the MOE. These include working with RTI technical staff to identify, develop, and harmonize effective literacy and numeracy instructional approaches to be used in the early grades. S/he will also provide support for TAC tutors working to implement revised lesson plans. S/he will ensure that the ICT pilot study in Kisumu operates efficiently and that the program is effective. The assignment is technical, and is designed to provide high level support for effective local capacity building.


 QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years’ experience or Masters with 3 years’ experience.
Required is a BA/BED and eight (8) years of experience in the education sector; MA/MED preferred;
Understanding of scientifically based reading and Maths research; Familiarity with use of ICT in education desired;
Knowledge of a balanced literacy framework and early mathematics understanding;
Knowledge of Kiswahili and English transition instruction strategies is required.
