CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) JOB IN UGANDA

Our client, a premier women rights organisation, which is a pioneer of legal aid and public legal education in Uganda, with a track record of 35 years of exemplary experience as a passionate, trusted, fearless, and uncompromising defender of women’s rights, wishes to appoint a dynamic and result-oriented Chief Executive Officer.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO should be passionate about social transformation, women’s rights, and legal excellence. The CEO will be responsible for providing strategic support to the organisation and drive the people agenda. The CEO will be based in Kampala, Uganda.

Key responsibilities:

Craft and implement the strategies in articulating the organization’s brand and ensuring an effective system of strategic measurement and governance;
Ensure that structures are organized, managed and controlled to maximize achievement of the organization’s vision and delivery of its brand;

Oversee all aspects of operational management, ensuring that standards of excellence are set and maintained in every sphere of activities;
Lead and develop a highly motivated team of staff;
Promote the organization nationally, regionally, and internationally;
Develop good partner and donor relationships; and
Oversee organizational resources.


Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Law;
Masters Degree in law or Master degree in social sciences and humanities;
A Diploma in legal practice is an added advantage;
At least 10 years experience in the field of development or human rights.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of performance, experience in managing teams, financial management and fundraising, strong facilitational and inspirational skills as well as genuine concern and care for others.

He/She will have proven record of being a visionary and strategic leader and good communications abilities.
