ASSOCIATION FOR AID AND RELIEF FIELD OFFICER JOB IN KITUI - AAR JAPAN

Project Name: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), East Africa Emergency Drought Response

Job Title: Field Officer

Duty Station: Kitui County, Kenya

Period: 4 Months (Feb-May, 2012), possible extension of 1 or 2 months

Job Summary:
The position is responsible for mobilizing communities and monitoring of project implementation in the filed level.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Community mobilization and sensitization.
Assist Project Officer and Programme Coordinator in conducting a baseline survey.
Data entry of survey.

Support communities in forming Water Management Committees.
Assist Project Officer in training of Water Management Committees on management of water and sanitation facilities and PHAST/CLTS in collaboration with Ministry of Water and Irrigation and Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation.
Monitor the construction site of pipeline extension, water and sanitation facilities to ensure works are done as per the schedule.
Monitor the activities of Water Management Committees to ensure that the water and sanitation facilities are properly managed and maintained.
Monitor the activities of Water Management Committees to ensure that committee members engage in awareness-raising activities on hygiene and sanitation in the communities.
Prepare and submit daily monitoring report to Programme Coordinator/Country Director.
Assist Project Officer and Programme Coordinator in conducting an end of project evaluation.
Any other duties as required.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

A minimum of two-year-experience in working with NGO project
Experience in community mobilization
Computer literacy
Experience in motorbike riding with license
