General Purpose
Leads and facilitates the team in reaching their targets, with the responsibility of personnel management aspects. Ensures operational
efficiency by developing working practices, processes and methods. Drives customer satisfaction activities in own area.
Main Responsibility Area
Has the responsibility for proactive Cost Control & Management in Network Operations for pan-Africa MS contract ( 6 countries ) both
the active + passive scope of services.
Position Description
Key responsibilities:
• Provide Project Leader (Ops Manager & Ops Director) with the necessary and required information related to project cost and
execution efficiency
• Support the cost engineers in the respective countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Malawi, Zambia & Madagascar) in terms of
driving the cost management practices and supporting the Ops director central team, working with the Airtel Africa Project

F&C for cost LE planning.
• Support the NwOps Region/Sub-region Management, Customer Team and NwOps LoB goal of increased cost efficiency and
improved margins
• Responsible for cost analysis and benchmarking of tendered case
Position Requirements
Key tasks:
Cost Control:
• Participate in handover meetings and understand the ASCE from the solutions team: Cost control manager is required to
understand in detail the project scope and ASCE for new cases sold to the customer.
• Project cost planning: Supports Ops manager in planning detailed cost forecasts and provide to F&C as an input to Nelle
• Finalise cost baseline and risk reserve from ASCE and implement them into the tools and systems
• Updating/maintaining cost baseline: Revise and update cost baseline according to additional and agreed scope with the
customer and assist Ops manager in necessary approvals for revisions if required.
• Cost control structure creation and maintenance: Assist Ops manager and Project F&C in creation of cost control structure for
capturing the cost in most effective and efficient manner
• Project cost control processes: Take responsibility for overall deployment of NwOps global cost control management processes
to the project and localise the global guidelines according to the project requirements. Implement these processes and
maintain cost control management tools.
• Actual cost tracking: On global guidelines, create local processes, implement and maintain local processes for actual cost
movement, tracking and alignment with the local country requirements (Ordering, invoicing processing, cost tracking)
• Keep a tight control on subcontractor ordering and pricing and provide with accurate monthly cost accruals
• NCC tracking: Assist Ops manager in identifying non conformance cost and track these costs into the system and report
accordingly
