He / She will report to the East Africa Regional Branch manager and be responsible for the key responsibilities, as described below.

Today, the Europe office has more than 20 branches and subsidiaries throughout Europe, employing approximately 1500 personnel, located across Europe, Russia Africa and the Middle East. The net EMEA sales are in excess of €650 million (FY09, ending 31 March 10).
The Nairobi Branch Office is looking to recruit a Carrier Networks, Sales Person responsible for providing technical knowledge, advice and support to sales representatives, resellers and customers during the sales process to resolve requests regarding product/service technical issues and to maximize the benefits derived from the organization's products and/or services.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain customer relationships
- Find and develop new business
- Manage pipeline offers
- Putting together contracts with the assistance of Legal and Finance
- Applies consultative sales techniques to meet or exceed sales targets
- Promote the organizations’ capabilities to provide services
- Working in collaboration with Europe and Japan
- Maintains a high level of industry, product and service knowledge to transfer this knowledge to customers and prospects. Utilizes advance product/service knowledge and understanding of the customers’ business to develop customized proposals that present create solutions
- Follow up all opportunities and proposals, RFx response
- Help to create the business plan and the economic offer
- Operates in line with any statutory obligations (such as SOX, SOP) and NEC business processes and procedure
- Delivers and co-ordinates customer presentations and demonstrations
- Identifies and attends appropriate events related to NEC’s business - Network activities, lobbying
- Negotiating major contracts with customers
- Acquisition of new prospects and new business segments
- Coordination in between customer and NEC departments to meet customer requirements
Education and / or Professional Qualifications
- College degree or bachelor on Infrastructure technics
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate ability to develop new business models for customers with new technology.
- Demonstrate ability to manage customer accounts at both the CxO and technical level.
- Ability to establish brands, explore product opportunities, work out customer product competitive strategies and competitive plans.
- Have a good working knowledge of at least one or more of the following products & solutions: Wireless solutions including CDMA, UMTS; Broadband Network & IPTN network including NGN, ATM/IP, DSLAM, & DATA; Optical Network including SDH, WDM; intelligent network including SCP, SMP, SDP.
- Detailed knowledge of local carrier business models and service management strategies.
- Excellent proposal writing skills
- Ability to comprehend and present complex solutions to prospective customers
- Ability to build up and maintain networks
- Knowledge in the field of microwave, network solutions and mobile infrastructure
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 2/3 years direct telecommunications and carrier network sales / account management experience with a proven track record with an international telecoms equipment provider company.
- A proven track record of building long-term relationships with strategic carrier accounts.
- Excellent collaboration skills with a wide variety of people (product management, engineering, marketing).
- Ability to show creativity and a different way of thinking will be essential.

- Ability to put together offers, experience answering RFx
- Must be self-motivated and capable of working under own initiative.
- Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
