KPMG Uganda is looking for an experienced and exceptional Senior HR Manager to join our exciting, fast-paced,cutting-edge practice in Kampala, Uganda.
Your roles and responsibilities
Work in collaboration with the firm’s leadership and regional HR management to develop suitable people strategies
and initiatives that will align HR to the firm’s business strategy;
Support the firm in attracting top talent and in unlocking the staff’s capability through learning and development;
Champion the firm’s high-performance culture by inculcating the KPMG performance development and learning and development processes;
Cultivate a close working relationship with management and staff to understand their motivational needs and maintain high employee engagement;
On a regular basis, review the people policies of the firm to ensure
consistency with best practice and market trends; and
Oversee the HR Administrative function.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Bachelors degree in HR, social or business studies together with a postgraduate
qualification in HR;
Minimum of 9 years’ generalist HR experience of which 4years should be in a
HR management role. Preference for experience in a multinational company
with HR responsibility for at least 300 staff;
Excellent knowledge and understanding of core HR technical skills;
Able to engage and apply both long-range and short-term HR planning;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A persuasive
negotiator;
Must be a people-person, firm but fair with ability to work with people with
diverse personalities;
Ability to empathize, listen and enable staff solve own problems, and guide and lead others by example;
Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and resolve conflicting demands; and
Socially confident and able to create a strong presence with leadership, peers and staff at KPMG.
