Exciting Opportunity to Help Preserve and Protect Karura Forest
The Friends of Karura is a Community Forest Association working in conjunction with the Kenya Forest Service to conserve and protect Karura forest.
The Karura Forest Environment Education Centre aims to change attitudes towards the management and the conservation of the environment.
We are currently seeking a Fundraising and Event Coordinator
Salary: Ksh 80-100,000 PM + % of Fundraising and Events Income
Job Purpose
To help ensure the preservation of Karura Forest through fundraising and revenue generating events.
To proactively attract donations from NGOs, philanthropic and private sector organizations for projects and general maintenance of the forest.
To represent the vision of Friends of Karura CFA and Karura Forest Environment Education Trust (KFEET) for the development of the forest and the education centre.
The Person
The successful candidate must be a creative enterprising spirit, with excellent communication skills and a background in fundraising and event management.
The candidate MUST have the following:
A good Bachelors degree or higher in a relevant subject
At least 5 years experience of fundraising and event management
A proven track record in effective fundraising
A proven track record and highly organized approach to event management
Business, financial and administrative abilities
Excellent presentation and communication skills
A dynamic, passionate and energetic personality
Fluent English; working knowledge of Kiswahili an advantage
Must be eligible to work in Kenya
