SAVE THE CHILDREN ADMINISTRATION MANAGER, CAMP MANAGER AND LIASON OFFICER JOBS IN KENYA

We are seeking to fill the following positions, all offered as one (1) year contract with possibility
of extension if additional funding is secured:

ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
1 Position
Based in Nairobi with field travel

Job purpose
The incumbent will oversee the Kenya Programme Office Administration functions and ensure
delivery of quality administrative support services.
S/He will also be responsible for the planning, managing and monitoring the Nairobi office
budget and to regularly review office expenditure in accountable, efficient and effective way for
key services in administration and provide technical support to field offices.

Person Specification:
A first degree in business administration or social sciences with minimum of 3 years administrative
experience at a senior within a reputable international organization and good communication,
interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to cope with varying workloads and interruptions and to organize activities to provide
efficient services.

CAMP MANAGER
3 Positions
Based in Dadaab

Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Area Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing a transparent system of management within the camp and ensures the proper coordination of
operations and programme activities through provision of services at camp level.
He/she will supervise two Coordinators who will ensure proper communication and collaboration
with the camp residents and will represent Save the Children UK at various forums at camp level.

Person specification:
A bachelors degree in business management, public administration, operations, international
development, or related field; Graduate degree preferred with minimum 2 years experience in a
program management position in a developing country or post conflict setting, with minimum of 3
years of staff management experience in administration, finance, and logistics.
Valuable and varied experience in managing multisectoral programs in a context of relief or
recovery, excellent administrative, Budget and financial control/management, communications,
and decision-making skills.
Experience liaising with local officials, local NGO agencies and donor representatives.

LIAISON OFFICER
1 position
Based in Dadaab

Job Purpose
The incumbent will ensure community engagement and work towards improving relations and
ways of working between Save the Children, the Host Community, other Agencies and the
Refugee Community.
He/she will act as a focal point in liaising with local authorities as well as being an independent
source of information for Save the Children, with regard to community needs, by identifying,
assessing and recommending appropriate approaches to community mobilization, Monitor
effectiveness and impact of community mobilization.
S/He will set objectives/indicators together with the Area Manager and record progress. As well
as explore all links with individual members of the community and develop their engagement and
ownership of the Save the Children Dadaab program, and Compile and submit progress reports
to the line manager as required

Person Specifications:
A holder of KCSE Certificate with a Diploma in Social Work/ Public relations with 3 years
relevant experience in liaison work preferably in a refugee setup, experience of and commitment
to utilizing participatory approaches and ability to work in teams and with rural communities.
Good communication skills with fluency in Somali and spoken English & Kiswahili, can work under pressure and meet strict deadlines with minimum supervision and experience in working in a program involving children will be an added advantage.
