Job Description
We are looking for an experienced marketing professional to join our team and help build Jacaranda’s brand to fuel our growth. The Marketing Associate will take on a range of responsibilities, from designing marketing collateral, to managing relationships with vendors, to analysis of data from our marketing efforts, to outreach and negotiations with above the line marketing channels. This role will require spending substantial time in the communities in which we operate to understand the needs of our potential clients. The candidate we seek brings several years of marketing experience in a setting relevant to Jacaranda’s. This could include marketing or design work for another health care organization (hospital or NGO), and/or marketing other services to lower-income populations. He/she has a keen design sense, works effectively with data, understands how to convey information about sensitive subjects in a succinct way, and is a self-starter who can manage projects autonomously. This role is critical to Jacaranda's goal of delivering quality customer service and maintaining superior patient satisfaction. We seek someone who is organized, flexible, personable, and has strong commitment to providing friendly and respectful care to all women.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Jacaranda’s marketing collateral (posters, brochures, fliers, signage, etc.) and ensure they convey information to prospective clients effectively
Plan and execute new marketing approaches for Jacaranda, and contribute to a culture that is continually testing new concepts for sales and marketing in a rapid way
Work closely with Jacaranda’s sales and monitoring and evaluation teams to use data to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing approaches
Build relationships with media contacts and identify opportunities for collaboration
Evaluate above-the-line marketing channels and negotiate for terms
Create tools to support the sales team in their roles (e.g., marketing collateral, scripts, branded items)
Research new business development channels, and assist in partnership negotiations
Desired Qualifications
Diploma or higher in a relevant field 3+ years of work experience in marketingor business development
Preference given for experience with a marketing team in the healthcare sector such as a hospital or a marketing-savvy health NGO, and/or experience marketing services or products to lower-income customers Good visual design skills and ability to translate written content into appealing materials
Hands-on approach to getting things done; strong worth ethic and a sense of urgency in solving problems
Can manage many tasks with a high level of independence
Strong computer and office skills. Must be able to design and execute partnership agreements, presentations, proposals, conduct analyses of quantitative data, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Swahili
Fervent passion for improving the health and well-being of all mothers and children in East Africa Loves people.
You must be outgoing, friendly and able to relate to people well, including expectant mothers
