E-Reader Programme in Nyando District
Project Manager Required
A soon to be established E-Reader programme in Muhoroni, Nyando district is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the project.
This role interfaces with the schools and libraries in the district, the Partner organization, and Worldreader International.
The Project Manager will have three primary areas of responsibility:
Policy formulation and administration
Work with local schools, library and sponsors to set targets and policy for E-Reader use
Create programming using E-Readers
Monitor student and teacher performance after E-Reader use
Establish program for library to implement E-Readers when they are not in use at schools
E reader Device Management
Schedule and facilitate loading content and software updates onto devices
Provide maintenance and trouble-shoot minor technical problems
Program Administration
Train teachers and students to use EReaders in local classrooms to enhance both teaching and learning
Schedule and manage E-reader use and distribution
Organize community outreach programs
Interact with all partners and sponsors to create and implement programs
Report monthly to project sponsors
Qualifications
Your previous work experience should illustrate that you are a structured, organized thinker and communicator, able to set goals and achieve targets.
Ideally, you are a former educator interested in implementing new teaching and learning strategies in the classroom.
You will be provided some on-site training but most of your training will be self-taught using
detailed written materials.
Skills
Teaching experience
Technical skills and proficiency using computers and other electronic devices
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Skype and ideally Google Docs
Strong organization and interpersonal skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Fluency in English and Kiswahili
Knowledge of Nyando district and familiarity with the nature of local classrooms
Ability to self-train using manuals
High level of motivation and ability to work independently
