HFG/K AND NMG TALENT SEARCH FOR G-PANGE RADIO SHOW
The Partnership for an HIV-Free Generation (HFG) is a global public-private partnership that aims at HIV prevention among the youth aged 10-24. In Kenya, HFG/K exists to accelerate the Government of Kenya’s HIV prevention strategy of reducing HIV infection by 50% in the next 5 years. HFG/K’s vision is to inspire and provide opportunities for all youth to live healthy and productive lives and to contribute to the realization of an HIV free generation.
HFG/K hopes to realize this vision through increasing knowledge and skills for HIV prevention among youth; promoting safer sex behaviors and uptake of HIV prevention services; increasing youth participation and ownership of the program; improving self-esteem and empowerment among youth; and increasing youth access to economic empowerment opportunities.
HFG/K wants to use radio programming innovatively, interactively and differently, in its campaigns to reach the youth and is seeking talented youth to be mentored in presentation, production, reach and marketing.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
The program presenter
The program presenter will be an articulate, knowledgeable and energetic individual with a strong broadcasting voice. He/She will inform, educate and entertain audiences and will ensure that audiences keep listening to the program as long as possible.
Qualification for the Program Presenter
Aged 18-24 years
Not currently employed
Willing to talk openly about sexual behavior
With a strong on-air personality, confident, warm and able to be trusted by youth
Good mastery of youth slang, Kiswahili and/English
Excellent public speaking skills and impressive listening skills
Self motivated and adaptable to situations
Able to generate innovative ideas and creatively communicate them
Strong and powerful voice for radio
Knowledgeable about youth lifestyle and capable of building credibility and rapport with audiences
Energetic, organized and systematic in undertaking tasks
Avid radio listener and knowledgeable of formats and program styles and audience demographics
Willing to learn and able to work under pressure independently and in a team
Basic knowledge of ethics and media regulation related to radio
Knowledgeable in IT
