About the position
The Field Network Supervisors (FSNs) will provide high-quality clinical and programmatic support to the DFID-funded programme for Delivering Increased Family Planning Across Rural Kenya (DIFPARK) field operations in a cluster of counties, specifically private clinical and pharmaceutical service delivery points.
DIFPARK is DFID’s new innovative flagship family planning (FP) project for Kenya that will run for 4.5 years. DIFPARK intends to improve behaviors and significantly increase the use of FP through the private sector with a focus on improving the lives of rural women and adolescent girls.
FSNs will be critical in ensuring that increased family planning (FP) services effectively reach rural women and girls. FSNs are full time position and will be based in one of the regional office in Nairobi, Kissi, Kakamega or Eldoret and will be managed by a Regional Manager.
Frequent travel throughout a cluster of counties will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and technical support regarding FP and family health to service providers in private health facilities, pharmacies and at Market Day Midwives kiosks
- Serving as a medical detailer to health facilities and pharmacies
- Liaise with the Logistics Department to ensure that commodities are consistently available at the point of service provision
- Monitor project activities at the facility level to ensure that quality services are being provided and that expected numbers of clients are being served
- Make sure the project reaches the set targets especially the youth and men and women of reproductive age, with the correct messages
- Collate data on field activities and submit to the M&E department every month • Ensure project targets are met and quality services are provided by the service providers
- Ensure that deadlines on service delivery are met
- Hold biannual meetings with service providers
- Ensure that service providers prepare and submit monthly activity reports by the end of each month
- Ensure that the point of service provision (kiosks) are well-maintained and are in good state repair at all times
- Prepare and submit monthly activity report
- Ensure that FP vouchers are distributed and well-managed in programme implementation
- Act as the link between the service providers and the Futures Group
Qualifications
- Should be a qualified Registered Nurse Midwife or Clinical Officer with 5 years’ experience in project management
- Experience of working in a large donor funded health project is an added advantage
- Experience of managing a varied workload and managing a group of project partners
- Experience of providing high quality support and technical assistance to multiple service providers is essential
- Should have good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate easily and clearly
- Should be experienced in social marketing and the private sector for health is an advantage
- Knowledge of particular clusters of counties around the DIFPARK offices is a distinct advantage
