Job Title: Group Human Resources Manager
Reports to: Director – Overseeing HR function at Board level
Supervises: HR Managers and oversees the HR and Administration function in the Group
Overall Responsibility
Responsible for the strategic management and leadership of the Group’s Human Resources Management function.
Specific duties & Responsibilities
Oversee development of HR Function strategies to maximize value deliverance of staff
Developing and implementing equitable and fair HRM Policies and Procedures
Implement procedures to recruit, attract and select staff with relevant skills required for the business in line with the Company’s budget allocations.
Undertake skills audit to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the gaps i.e talent management, succession planning, training and development programs
Manage and coordinate staff performance management programs
Motivate the entire workforce to optimize productivity through developing progressive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance.
Establish and communicate HR standard operating standards in order to achieve cohesion and consistency in the application of Company policies
Ensure compliance with Labour Laws of Kenya and ILO standards
Proactively manage employee and Industrial relations-Oversee implementation of Collective Bargaining Agreement with KEWU and KUCFAW Unions
Drive internal communication process on HR Policies, organization development, organization culture and change management
Oversee staff welfare programs, general Insurance and medical Insurance
Develop and implement HR strategy
Ensure efficient and effective organization structure and inter-company relations/communication.
Key skills, knowledge, Experience and personal competencies
A University Degree in Social Sciences
Relevant professional qualification such as Higher Diploma in HR, Organisation Development and HR Development.
Professional training in Counselling is desired
Masters in HRM degree will be added advantage but not a requirement
Computer literate and experience in using ERP /HRIS
Thorough understanding of labour laws
Experience in a multi-cultural environment will be desired/ a manufacturing entity
7-10 years progressive HR experience ; with at least 3 years in a senior position preferably as the Team Leader
