Job Purpose Statement
The purpose of this role is to achieve business growth for the Bank by selling Business Banking Unit products within assigned market segment, and by promoting and selling other products and services of the Bank to enhance value-add relationship with existing customers. This incorporates prospecting and acquiring new customers, and pursuing incremental business within the existing customers, as well as managing customer expectations to sustain the business relationship.

Key Responsibilities
- Growth in business volumes, customer base and customer accounts.
- Adequacy of personal competence to effectively perform Account Relationship Management tasks.
- Consistency in adherence to and application of established policies, processes, and tools to achieve optimal efficiency, compliance and cost containment.
- Minimisation of exposures to and impact of risks associated with KYC, AML and portfolio maintenance.
- Quality of management of customer expectations.
- Prospecting for and acquiring new customers within assigned market segments.
- Maintaining adequate contact with assigned customers to ensure their expectations are managed and that they have appropriate understanding of CBA.
- Selling BBU products and services to existing customers in assigned market segment.
- Promoting and selling other products of the Bank to existing customers in assigned market segment i.e. cross-selling.
- Ensure adhered to compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML) requirements in all dealings with customers.
- Manage all aspects of risk, including monitoring of advances portfolio, strict adherence to the provisions of the credit policy document to ensure minimal losses to the bank.
- Monitor credit facilities of assigned customer portfolio and ensure that renewals, extensions and cancellations are initiated and processed before the expiry date.
- Ensure an effective call program is maintained on all assigned customers and prospects. The calls should be recorded and reported.
- Participate in cross-functional activities that help promote and nurture collective responsibility to the bigger objectives of the Bank.
- Periodic (as specifically defined) performance reporting on sales activities and customer portfolio maintenance.
- Assist in identifying relevant customer needs not met by existing products and the implementation of new products and services to address those needs.
- Initiate and engage in self-development programmes to enhance competence and/or bridge identified gaps.
- Interpersonal skills to create and maintain relevant business networks; and to effectively communicate with and manage customer expectations (internal and external), and other stakeholders who impact performance.
- Technical skills to effectively perform Account Relationship Management activities/tasks in a manner that consistently achieves high quality standards or benchmarks.
- Sales skills to prospect and close business
- Knowledge of Business Banking products especially for SME segment.
- Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures and guidelines to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.
- Self-empowerment to enable development of open communication, teamwork and trust that are needed to support performance and customer-service oriented culture.
- University Degree in Business related course – Upper Second or GPA 3.0.
- At least 4 years successful experience in similar position or equivalent.
- Practical experience in use of Microsoft Office Packages
