Vacancies for Anticipated Agricultural Innovations Project
Chemonics International, a U.S. based international development consulting firm, seeks qualified professionals for a USAID-funded Feed the Future project anticipated to start June 2012. The project is expected to accelerate efforts to address poverty and food security needs in Kenya by identifying, testing, cultivating, adapting, and scaling private sector innovations in select agriculture value chains that have the potential to general significant increases in household income and/or nutrition and promote equal opportunities for vomcn, youth, and other vulnerable groups.
Chief of Party
Responsible for overall management of the project.
Minimum qualifications:
Venture capital mindset and private sector background.
Masters in Business Administration or relevant field.
At least 7 years of experience in venture capitalism or other relevant experience.
At least 10 years of experience working overseas and/or in Africa.
Engagement Manager
Responsible for conducting initial assessments of applicants at all stages, determining what type and how much technical assistance is needed for each innovation, submitting Proposals for the identified technical assistance, managing short—term technical assistance orders.
Minimum qualifications:
Masters in Business Administration or relevant field.
At least 7 years of experience in management/financial consulting, venture capitalism, or other relevant field.
Assessment and Evaluation Specialist
Responsible for the design and oversight of experiments and other rigorous evidence based assessments.
Minimum qualifications:
PhD. in relevant field.
At least years of experience conducting rigorous, evidence-based assessments, or similar studies.
Grants and Operations Manager
Responsible for managing and executing grants—under—contract program. Will also lead operations, finance, accounting, and ensure compliance with USAID regulations.
Minimum qualifications:
Masters in accounting, finance, or similar degree.
At least years of experience in each: managing grants programs, finance/accounting, and compliance on a complex development program.
Agricultural Innovation Specialist
Responsible for leading agricultural efforts for the project. Should be private sector oriented and able to envision and implement solutions to adopting improved agricultural practices.
Minimum qualifications:
Graduate degree in a relevant field.
At least 7 years of private sector agricultural or similar experience.
