Position: Director, Human Resource and Administration Services

Location: Headquarters-Kampala Road Industrial Area
Grade: 2
Reporting to: Managing Director
Supervises: Human Resource Manager, Administration and Logistics Manager,Coordinators and Officers
Broad Role: To provide effective leadership and strategic direction in the management of human capital and administrative services by developing relevant human capital and administrative initiatives and performance improvement interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Developing an employee-oriented organization culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, team- work, high performance and quality
Ensuring organizational conformity with applicable HR related regulations and statutes as well as organizational procedures and policies
Implementing HR programs and policies meant to enhance a positive organization culture
Identifying, evaluating, and resolving human relations, employee morale, work performance, and organizational productivity concerns
Developing and implementing talent management strategies
Creating employee training and organizational development programs
Conducting performance reviews and monitoring employee attitudes, productivity, and performance outcomes
Recruit and retain required talent for all the functions in the company
Designing and implementing competitive compensation schemes and attractive employee welfare programs
Managing the risk management processes within the Directorate and assisting in developing health and safety programs for staff as provided by the law.
Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Social Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Masters degree in Human Resource Management
Higher diploma in Human Resource Management or related field
Member – Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
Minimum10 years experience with at least 5 years’ experience in human capital management
Required Skills and Competencies
Ability to develop HR strategies and business plans to drive the corporate strategy
Ability to develop and present policy papers
Strong project management, time management, and leadership skills
Solid problem-solving skills and business acumen
Able to multitask in a fast -paced environment
Ability to coach and mentor staff
Ability to negotiate contractual and recognition agreements with staff and union(s)
Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with staff
Competencies in developing dashboards and application of best practice HR tools
Competencies in performance management.
