Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer
Country: Kenya
Location: Branch 2
Closing Date: January 27 2012
Description: To provide leadership in monitoring, evaluation and learning activities in the project and other governance and advocacy initiatives within the Branch and WVK.
Purpose of the Position: As part of the team for the Education Accountability Project, the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer (Governance and Advocacy) will provide leadership in monitoring, evaluation and learning activities in the project and other governance and advocacy initiatives within the Branch and WVK.
In order to perform this role effectively, the M, E & L Officer must be able to effectively lead processes and interventions that will contribute to effective monitoring of project interventions, functional learning and documentation initiatives and increased accountability to project beneficiaries, partners and funding donor agencies.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
A minimum of first degree in any of the Social Sciences or equivalent
Significant experience of monitoring and reporting of advocacy and governance projects
Ability to lead in complex and challenging environments
Experience in documenting project interventions and facilitating learning across and within different platforms – community, organization and external.
Direct experience in governance and advocacy projects will be an added advantage.
Creativity and innovative thinking
Experience in leading baseline surveys , evaluations and policy research in governance and advocacy issues.
Excellent time-management and prioritization
Strategic thinking and ability to lead on strategic planning with others
Experience of working in a multi and cross-cultural environment
Working knowledge of English and Swahili languages.
