Process Improvement Lead East Africa 

A multinational company in the horticulture industry located in the outskirts of Nairobi seeks to fill the above position with a suitable candidate:

Role Purpose:Implement the Business Supply Chain Process Improvement Programme in line with the Business Strategy in order to extract the maximum Value from the Supply Chain.

Own and Lead Regional Improvement initiatives that form part of the programme.

Key performance areas:
  • Responsible for regional improvement programme which delivers yearly value to the business.
  • Embeds structural and sustainable manufacturing processes and systems with teams.
  • Organises and develops the process improvements initiatives into actionable plans.
  • Establishes and maintains stakeholder management to ensure support for the Improvement Initiatives.
  • Organises and coaches local resources to implement in the most efficient way the improvement initiatives.
  • Champion the development of LEAN / 6 – thinking and culture across the sites.
  • Brings specialised expertise in the field of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) tools and techniques.
  • Embeds WCM tools and techniques into the organisation.
  • Permanently educates local focus teams to the culture of continuous improvement, standardisation and sustainability.
  • Works across boundaries to support integrated solutions including involvement in regional and global initiatives.
  • Develops appropriate evaluation, monitoring and correction tools for agreed initiatives.
Education/Experience/Skills and abilities:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Agricultural sciences or Supply chain.
  • At least five years working experience in a process improvement function.
  • Working experience in World Class Manufacturing Techniques and Tools.
  • Change Management Skills.
  • Project Management Skills.
  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to work well in teams.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office and flow charts.
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement attitude and achievement of goals.
