CELEXON a new luxury hotel in Bujumbura (Burundi) is looking for:
A hotel manager (man or woman) with:
a diploma of the hotel school,
at least 10 years experience as a hotel manager;
speaks, reads and writes English and French;
intelligent, creative and experienced in creating events etc.
The hotel will open its doors in the first quarter of 2012.
The hotel will have the following standards: Cleanliness, Quality,
Service, Maintenance, and Atmosphere.
As hotel manager, you will ensure the delivery of these standards and the smooth running of all aspects of the management function, including stock ordering and hitting financial targets. Marketing the hotel for greater sales and higher occupancy is required and you will be expected to form links with local businesses and tourist information points.
To keep a close eye on standards, regular checks should be made to rooms and you will implement regular hotel and pub management meetings.
Occasional overnight work will be required and you will carry out risk assessments and other health and safety checks to ensure customer safety in all areas.
Managing staffing and recruitment levels will be crucial to the smooth running of the business, so you will play an active role in search and selection activities and the training and development of your team.
This will extend to the day-to-day performance and attendance of staff, and maintaining personnel and training files.
Professional and well presented, you should have strong leadership and people management skills to complement your excellent customer service focus.
The ability to communicate with people at all levels is essential, and you should also be self-motivated and able to bring a high level of enthusiasm to everything you do. With experience of managing standards and processes, you should be calm under pressure and adaptable to change.
