SALES COORDINATOR
Background:
A managing partner of a Community based Heath Care Scheme operating within Eldoret area is
looking for an experienced individual to fill the role of a Sales Coordinator.
Salary:
Monthly Retainer plus commission
Location:
Eldoret area covering Kipkaren, Lemook, Salient and Sangalo
The Job:
The Sales Supervisor is responsible for providing on the ground leadership to maintain and grow
membership into the scheme. The Job holder will be responsible for the design and
implementation of new sales approaches, processes and strategies aimed at increasing
membership as well as training and development of the sales executives working under him.
The Jobholder will work closely with the administration and marketing functions of the scheme to
improve its administrative processes and marketing efforts.
Reporting directly to Project Manager, the Sales Supervisor’s key roles are:
• Sales team leadership
• Sales Management, reporting and strategy formulation.
• Market Research, customer surveys and analysis
Sales Team Leadership
• Training, coaching and motivating sales team.
• Managing sales targets on monthly, weekly and daily basis
• Planning and managing sales activities according to agreed targets and work plans
• Representing the scheme at community events and act as team leader at these sales
opportunities
Sales Management, Reporting and Strategy Formulation
• Analysing sales statistics and other data sources to allocate sales force and marketing
resources, including linkage of sales territories and targets
• Establishing effective sales strategies to reach the schemes objectives
• Providing accurate information to management to enhance decision making and process
Market Research, Customer Surveys and Analysis
• Gather market and competitor intelligence to shape sales strategy
• Liaise with other scheme partners to plan marketing/ promotional campaigns
• Extensive monitoring of customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts
Experience & Background Needed
• A graduate with a minimum of three to five years experience in sales/marketing,
preferably field based
• Diploma holders with relevant work experience in sales/marketing are welcome to apply
• Proven track record of consistent, high performance in sales, with strong leadership
qualities
• Strong business management skills and strategic planning skills
• Understanding of brand management/market intelligence
• Complete familiarity with MS Office packages, especially Excel and PowerPoint, ability to
analyse data and create and communicate plans using these tools
• Strong motivation/coaching skills
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills
• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal fluency in English and Swahili
languages – ability to speak Kalenjin is highly advantageous
• Cross-cultural management skills
• Age: 25-40 years old

• Strong business acumen and ability to see the big picture
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment in a small team and enjoy multi-tasking
• Credibility and flexibility to deal with people at different levels
• Ability to strive to achieve high quality results continually in the face of challenges and
setbacks
• Culturally sensitive
• Must be a highly adaptable and versatile individual, able to handle ambiguity and work
unsupervised in an unstructured environment
• Valid driving licence, class BCE – able to ride a motorbike as an added advantage
