We are looking to employ a dedicated & ambitious Plant Environment
Coordinator to join our Projects & Environment team in our Mombasa Plant.
Reporting to the Projects & Environment Manager, the successful candidate
will be responsible for finding & implementing engineering solutions & best
practices in solving environmental issues, enforcing environmental
programmes in line with Lafarge and East Africa policies while complying
with the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) standards and
regulations.
He will be a key link person between the plant & our stakeholders & will be
responsible for all aspects of environmental management initiatives,
communication and stakeholder relationship.
Other key responsibilities will include;
1. Organize & analyse environmental measurements & audit campaigns
reports with internal & external bodies & implement corrective actions
2. Ensure regulatory compliance of environmental activities & report any
contravention of the NEMA, regulation, code of practice, instructions to
management for decision making
3. Propose & implement Engineering solutions to environmental pollution
problems and challenges as part of continuous improvement
4. Assist with development & maintenance of the Environmental Management
System
The ideal candidate will have;
- A degree in environmental engineering, environmental science or its
equivalent field (Masters in environmental management is an added advantage)
- 3 Years experience in an environment management role preferably in a
manufacturing company experience in environmental auditing & waste
management & effluent control & relation experience with stakeholders .
- Practical understanding of the Kenyan Environmental Legislation in dust
control management
- NEMA Lead Auditor qualification is an added advantage
